Linden Homes North Toasts School's Fund Raising Efforts At Charity Meal
11 Feb 2015

East Yorkshire developer Linden Homes North has raised a glass to the fundraising efforts of a local school – supporting their quest to improve sporting facilities for pupils.

The Swanland Primary School Academy Trust in Swanland has embarked on a £35,000 appeal to raise enough funds to astro turf part of one of the school fields, for use by the children.

As part of their effort, the school’s PTA has kick started the appeal and rallied the support of businesses, including Linden Homes North.

At a recent fund raising Chinese New Year celebration meal a local restaurant, members of the PTA, school staff, family and friends boosted coffers even further, thanks to a raffle with a range of prizes – including a presentation box of champagne and champagne flutes, donated by Linden Homes North.

Other prizes included a signed book by 2014 Great British Bake Off winner Nancy Birtwhistle, whose son Andy Devine is a production manager at Linden Homes North. Andy’s children attend Swanland.

The evening raised in the region of £3,000.

Swanland executive head teacher Chris Huscroft said: “Our huge thanks must go to the hardworking PTA members, school staff and other supporters who have embarked on this fund raising challenge for the school.

“Thanks to support from businesses like Linden Homes North, it has got off to a great start!”

Linden Homes is currently building at various locations around Yorkshire.
