The freshly kept cricket ground has been devotedly prepared by cricket groundskeepers across the country for the start of the new season. At Binfield Cricket Club, as well as the excitement of a new season getting underway, there has also been a £1,500 donation made to the club from Linden Homes.
Ian Foster the chairman of Binfield Cricket Club says the donation will be a very welcome contribution to this very busy village cricket club who plan to use the amount for new changing room facilities:
“We have a thriving colts section consisting of between 120 and 140 seven to seventeen year olds who train and play at the ground – so when Binfield CC is hosting a match, it becomes a real family affair, as parents and friends all turn out to watch the game.
“The men’s teams, which play in the Chiltern League are proud of the fact that they field teams that were 1st XI Champions in 2012 and 2nd XI Champions last year.
“Binfield CC also hosts regional visually impaired matches and junior county games. Next year the club will celebrate its 150th anniversary.”
