Linden Homes Fundraisers Use Pedal Power To Boost Cancer Charity Coffers
06 Jun 2013

SADDLING up for an epic challenge of pedalling up hill and down dale for a national charity were the Linden Homes awesome foursome!

Completing the 140-miles Coast To Coast cycle ride in mixed weather conditions were production director Brendan Blythe, production managers Lorne Ffoulkes-Jones and Don Burley and sub-contractor Karl Firth.

The team from the company’s Peterborough head office cycled the route from the West coast to the East coast over two enduring days, starting their journey in Whitehaven, pedalling through the Lake District and into the Northumbrian Hills and then final leg of the challenge into Newcastle.

Sponsorship is still being counted, but it is expected the cyclists raised several hundreds pounds for Prostate Cancer UK.

Lorne said: “The Coast to Coast was a challenge that we had all talked about taking part in, but decided we would do it to raise money for charity. We were geared up for the event at the end of March, but sadly this was postponed due to bad weather.

“As well as helping the four of us to each achieve a personal goal, we were delighted to be able to boost funds for such a worthwhile.”

This latest fundraising effort follows the Movember challenge at the end of last year, when a number of Linden Homes directors raised money for research into prostate cancer by spending the month growing a moustache.
