Life has quite literally taken off for Jonathan and Grace Sharp, since they moved into their new Linden Home at Saint George in Morpeth.
Opening the door to their Wordsworth home coincided with new career opportunities for them both.
It was Grace’s switch to an area manager’s position with a major business infrastructure specialist that prompted the couple’s return to the North East. But that also meant Jonathan had to leave his role as a personal trainer in Scotland.
However, so impressed was he by the beautiful woodland surroundings at Saint George, that he was inspired to combine his passion for photography and remote-controlled gadgetry and set up his own drone filming venture – SkyDrone.
And the resulting footage was not only purchased by Linden Homes for use on its website but also helped Jonathan win other work for his new business.
“Things could hardly have worked out better,” he says: “We have found the perfect home in a magnificent setting but I have been able to turn my hobbies into a job. We really do have an exciting new future opening up ahead of us.”
Having met while both working in the leisure sector in the North East, a series of promotions for Grace meant the couple moved north of the border and rented homes in several locations.
Returning to the North East they never intended to buy, or live at Saint George. Grace explained: “We were looking for somewhere to rent around Morpeth when a friend said we should go and take a look at Saint George.
“As soon as we drove up the leafy lane to the show homes and saw the rural setting, we knew it was a place we would just love to live. Even then, a four bedroomed home was not part of the plan but when I walked into the Wordsworth, I just loved it. When we found out we could afford it, the decision was made.
“We are very lucky to have such a lovely house in such a beautiful setting. Whenever I come home I get a warm fuzzy feeling and cannot believe it’s really ours. The house is just fabulous and gives us everything we need for our lifestyle and room to grow the family in the future.”
The Wordsworth is a delightfully designed home with the hallway leading to a spacious kitchen diner, equipped with integrated appliances and contemporary fittings. A living room, with French doors to the garden, runs the entire width of the ground floor, whilst upstairs is the master bedroom with ensuite, two further double bedrooms, a single bedroom, or study and family bathroom.
Three types of four bedroomed home are available at Saint George. Nestling beside established natural woodland and areas of open green space, yet just a short stroll from Morpeth town centre, properties blend perfectly with the semi-rural setting.
Not surprisingly, with Site Manager, Steve Bellamy, having received a Seal of Excellence Award from the National House Building Council for delivering high standards of building – quality stands out at Saint George.
Just a 20 minute drive from Newcastle City Centre and within easy reach of the breath-taking Northumbrian countryside and coastline, the development also offers the best of both town and country life.
However, those wanting to be even closer to town should take a look at Linden Homes’ other Morpeth development, The Fairways - the nearest new build scheme to the market town’s high street.
An exclusive and popular development of just 39 properties, The Fairways is within walking distance of Morpeth’s quaint boutique style shops and local restaurants and is close to a number of Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rated schools. With a selection of impeccable new properties available now, house hunters should visit soon to avoid disappointment.
With Help to Buy* and a range of incentives** available, house hunters can visit the sales office and show homes at both developments Thursday to Monday, between 10am and 5pm. Saint George is at NE61 1JY and The Fairways at NE61 1BT. For more information, call 01670 751 097***
