People in Leicester are among the happiest in the region (East Midlands) – according to new data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS)
The survey was carried out between 2012 and 2015, taking into account the views of 300,000 people, and those in Leicester rated themselves at 7.48 per cent out of 10 on average.
In the county itself, Leicestershire-folk rated themselves as 7.53 per cent happy. Blaby came out as the happiest district, with residents being 7.72 per cent happy.

Wolverhampton in the West Midlands turned out to be the least happy county to live, with 21.7 per cent rating their feelings at less than seven out of 10 along with Liverpool with both areas scoring 6.96 and 6.99 respectively.
