Last Chance To Enter The Totnes Camo-mile Community Challenge
24 Mar 2017

If you would like to try and win £200 for your local club, school, organisation or charity, then time is running out…

Linden Homes’ Camo-Mile Community Challenge finishes on 30th March. The company has created a path from Home Reach Avenue (just off Weston Lane) to link its new homes at Camomile Lawn with Steamer Quay and a mile-long route has been made so people can time themselves.

Entrants can choose if they’ll walk, run, or cycle the free course and each group will be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of five £200 prizes to their community group/nominated charity/school. There will also be a prize of £200 for the most unusual way to complete the route and there have already been some interesting entries!

Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, said: “The new path will benefit the whole of Totnes as it provides easy access to town and encourages people to leave their cars at home. We’ve been thrilled to welcome school children, local businesses, the Totnes Ramblers, Totnes RFC and the Alzheimer’s Association to name a few, and we’re encouraging others to take part before the competition closes.”

The Mayor of Totnes, Councillor Eleanor Cohen said: “I was extremely pleased to open the path and see the local community enjoying it. It’s a wonderful link that benefits the whole of Totnes and I expect it will be very popular.”

Anyone can enter the Camo-Mile Community Challenge, the only restrictions are that you need to:

  • book in advance
  • enter on behalf of a local charity, club/organisation or school
  • take part before 30th March
  • ensure your time is logged

Brian added: “The times will be recorded in the sales and marketing suite, where you will also be able to enter the prize draw. We’re delighted to have launched the Camo-Mile Community Challenge, and we’re keen to see the path being well used. Please email camo-milechallenge@lindenhomes.co.uk to book your place.

“Sustainability is important to us and at Camomile Lawn we are creating allotments and we have a Local Travel Plan that is about to be rolled out. It provides our residents with local information and energy saving benefits, including a bike voucher to encourage people to cycle or walk more – and this path will help make that possible.”

Camomile Lawn is a stunning development of new homes in Totnes, comprising an attractive collection of three bedroom homes and four bedroom houses. Set in an elevated position, Camomile Lawn boasts some fantastic views of Totnes castle and beyond, which can be enjoyed from the new path.
