Kind-hearted Gizzy’s Mission To Support Homeless Women In York

Staff at Linden Homes East Yorkshire have teamed up to support homeless women in York, by providing them with goodie bags of essentials and treats that many of us take for granted.

Toiletries, sweets, stationery, books, clothing, handmade cards and even pieces of jewellery were among the many items collected during a project spearheaded by connections and marketing manager Gizzy Murray.

What started as an idea between Gizzy and a group of friends took off to attract huge support from female colleagues at the Doncaster head office, with beautiful handmade bags being filled with the thoughtful items.

The bags were given to the Salvation Army who distributed them to homeless women around York.

Gizzy said: “I sent an email asking for help with the contents to the girls at work and they come through big style!  I received a lovely card from the Salvation Army homeless team saying the women were delighted and very touched – so I’m going to do it again this year!”
