Howden Green Proves A Popular Choice (13-08-12)

Launched last year, Linden Homes’ Howden Green residential development at Howden-Le-Wear featuring 22 homes is proving a really popular choice with over half already sold.

The Avery family from Cambridge was one of the first families to move in. Paul, Laura and baby Beth Avery bought their detached four-bedroom executive home off plan.

Laura said:  “It’s a fantastic home and we are so excited to be finally settled in.  We had not really been looking for a new home, but when we saw the quality of the show homes at Howden Green and the quality of the fixtures and fittings, we were convinced we should sign up immediately.”

For husband Paul, the move north marked a welcome return back to the area.  He added:  “It can be a bit of a gamble buying off plan, but in this case it has really worked out well.  When we walked around the show homes, even though they are a different design to the home we actually bought, we knew we would not be disappointed.”

For the Crook family, the move to Howden-Le-Wear was an easier matter.  They moved to Howden Green from  just outside Bishop Auckland and had not even put their home on the market when they fell in love with the development, mainly because of its rural setting.    As second time buyers, they were able to take advantage of Linden Homes’ part-exchange scheme too which made things really straightforward.

Leanne says:  “Linden Homes made us an offer for our home and bought it from us straight away so we were able to  move house with the minimum of hassle.  We love our new home, The Langley, because it is so spacious and will really give us room to grow as a family, which is just as well because we have since discovered that baby number two is on its way.  That was a real surprise, but things could not be better!”

Christine Douglas, sales and marketing manager for Linden Homes, has only ten more properties to sell.  She added:  “I am really pleased that word is really starting to spread about the superb homes at Howden Green and the first purchasers are moving in.  It is a development which appeals to couples and families alike with a range of three and four bedroom detached, semi-detached and terraced properties in six different house types.

“For those who like the countryside but still want the convenience of local shops and amenities, it is perfectly located just 20 minutes’ drive from Durham City and one mile south of Crook on the A689.

“Added to that, as the UK’s fifth largest housebuilder, we are able to offer a range of financial incentives to assist purchasers including a part-exchange option where we become your guaranteed cash buyer or for those who don’t have a house to sell, we will pay the stamp duty.”

The Greta, a three-bedroom terraced home with a fully fitted kitchen-cum-dining room and master bedroom with en suite.  The Greta offers an impressive 1,123 sq ft of space - well above the national average for homes of this type – which is the equivalent of an extra double bedroom of space.

The marketing suite is open Thursday to Monday, 10.00am to 5.00pm. To arrange a personal viewing, call 01388 763436 or 07968 573624 or the head office on 01661 824211.
