How To Avoid The Buy-To-Let Stamp Duty Hike: Buy Now At St Clements

In his autumn statement, the Chancellor George Osborne is reported to have sent shock waves through the UK investor market when he announced a stamp duty rise of 3% on buy to let properties from the start of April.

...So the bad news is that if you’re considering investing in a buy-to-let property in London in 2016 then you have just three months to act before the increase comes into effect in England and Wales.

But the good news is that St Clements, Linden Homes’ landmark development five minutes from Mile End tube, has a range of chic investor apartments ready to buy now to save on stamp duty.

And if, for example, you bought one of the £690,000 three bedroom apartments at St Clements before April 1st, you could save £20,700 by avoiding the new stamp duty surcharges.

This development, created on the site of an old grade two listed hospital, includes a range of one, two and three bedroom apartments.

Karen Roake, the sales and marketing director of Linden Homes Eastern, says St Clements offers an exciting new opportunity for London investors:

“Gladstone Court offers the first release of properties and is a mixture of new build homes and carefully refurbished buildings – both options offer beautifully finished apartments that are ready to move into.

“The kitchens and bathrooms are fully fitted. The kitchen units, worktops, flooring and appliances are included. (The fully guaranteed appliances included a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, oven, hob and extractor fan). Similarly the bathrooms are finished with tiled walls and floors. St Clements offers a great investment opportunity, particularly if you able to move quickly and buy before April 1st. Occupants will then be in before you know it.”
