Linden Homes won warm praise at the national Housebuilder Awards 2015 for the company’s low carbon Home @ Heartlands development in Redruth, Cornwall.
The innovative collection of homes was “highly commended” in the category of Best Low or Zero Carbon Initiative. The result was announced at a glamorous black tie evening event on Thursday November 5th at the Tower Hotel, London.
Home @ Heartlands comprises 133 energy efficient and eco-friendly homes for local people, plus 518 square metres of commercial space. It makes good use of a former brownfield site left largely untouched following the demise of the 17th century tin mining industry.
The properties’ low carbon credentials are evidenced by all the homes being built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, as well as meeting both Building for Life and Lifetime Homes criteria. The retail units will achieve the BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standard.

At Home @ Heartlands, there are currently one bedroom apartments and three bedroom houses available with Help to Buy. The development is nearing completion with 85 per cent already sold, and recently won the Michelmore’s Best Residential Project of the Year Award 2015.
