House Builder Helps Thorpe Hall To Build On Its Hospice Appeal Funds
31 Jul 2014

Staff from Linden Homes have again been digging deep in support of the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall hospice appeal - following some football fever inspired fundraising!

Colleagues at the Peterborough-based head office of Linden Homes Midlands enlisted the help of family and friends to help raise £500 towards the appeal, staging a World Cup dress down day and the auctioning of a number of national team shirts.

The donation will be added to the £4,420 the company has already raised for the appeal over the past 12 months.

Sue Ryder is aiming to raise £6 million to build a new hospice at Thorpe Hall in Peterborough.

Unprecedented support from across the region has already raised £2.4 million allowing the charity to complete the first two phases of the project.

Now, the third and final phase, the building of a modern, state-of-the-art in patient hospice has been scheduled to begin early in September.

Linden Homes has raised money through various events, ranging from a corporate golf day to a Star Trek-themed dress down day and a sponsored leg waxing during Febru-hairy!

The company has also donated furniture from its show home at Orchid development in Oakham.

Linden Homes Midlands finance director Fraser Hopes said: “We all had a lot of fun with this latest sporting-themed fundraising event, and it gives us enormous pleasure to continue to help with the Thorpe Hall appeal in some small way.”

Nilesh Patel, regional fundraiser at Thorpe Hall in Peterborough said: “On behalf of everyone involved with Thorpe Hall and the appeal, a huge thanks to Linden Homes for their continued support. Every penny raised really does make a difference.”

Most recently, Linden Homes Midlands receptionist Karen Dakin appealed for colleagues to donate unwanted gifts and other items to the Thorpe Hall Summer Fete (Aug 3) – which she also presented to Nilesh.
