The gold standard is being applied to the luxurious show home at award-winning Linden Homes’ collection of stylish new apartments at The Residence in Southwark.
Just a stone’s throw from the South Bank and its profusion of culture, art and food, The Residence is a set of contemporary studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
The show home has been designed by Sophie Keefe, of Jane Clayton & Company, who explained the inspiration behind her gold-themed treatment of the spacious two-bedroom duplex apartment.
“As with all show homes, it obviously needs to appeal to a wide cross-section of buyers,” she said. “However, when designing the apartment our focus was on professionals who have busy lives, both working hard and socialising in the city.
“The design theme strongly features gold metal finishes throughout combined with clever lighting effects to create a luxurious finish,” she said. “We used silk-based wallpapers with luxurious metallic finishes, principally from Stereo, plus a ‘dapple high gloss’ finish to selected furniture items.”
Inspirations that influenced the final vison were found in the styles and trends that emerged from British luxury design show Decorex in London, as well as the Maison & Objet interior living show in Paris.
Sophie added: “Current styles and trends we picked up on were metallic finishes in brass tones, as well as geometric patterns feature in fabrics and wallpapers – which we echoed in the feature lighting.”
Twenty-nine have been sold off plan at The Residence already thanks to the enviable SE1 postcode its shares with the Shard and the address’s value-for-money which is outstripping the local competition. All of the sought-after studio apartments have sold.
For those moving in, Sophie had some advice: “Keep the background palette neutral to keep a sophisticated look and then add an accent colour to create a striking contrast. In this case we have used navy blue.
“Use textures and layering to add interest to the space. Introduce key features or favourite pieces to add impact.”
The apartments also feature a concierge service, a roof garden, balconies on some of the homes, and a secure video entry system. There are views available that look out across the famous London skyline.
Those lucky enough to secure one of the Blackfriars apartments have a home that puts them on the doorstep of the West End’s theatre-land, just over the river, and on to the shopping, museums, and infinite delights of north London.
For getting about, Southwark tube station is just a short stroll down Blackfriars Road. Waterloo station is less than half a mile away and London Bridge is just under a mile.
In common with all Linden Homes properties, each apartment at The Residence also comes with integrated kitchen appliances as standard, plus a 10-year NHBC warranty and two-year customer care warranty for peace of mind.
Linden Homes South East managing director Darren Maddox said: “The luxury of the show home puts a spotlight on the enviable lifestyle The Residence is offering. High quality, brilliant location, excellent connections – don’t miss out, come and see for yourself.”
