First-time Buyers Lead Pack For Oaklands' New Homes In Horsham
03 Nov 2015

First-time buyers have been leading the pack seeking to snap up one of the new homes in Horsham which recently launched at Oaklands.

The leafy development from award-winning housebuilder Linden Homes only opened its doors to the public this month and has already seen an overwhelming interest for the three and four-bedroom homes on offer.

Oaklands is a selection of 160 thoughtfully designed properties varying from stylish one and two-bedroom apartments to luxurious houses with the choice of two, three and four bedrooms.

Thanks to the government’s Help to Buy scheme, which covers homes priced up to £600,000, all the three-bedroom homes could be within reach to customers with deposits as low as five per cent, as well as the four-bedroom Alexander.

Help to Buy works by combining a government loan of up to 20 per cent with an initial five per cent deposit, leaving an achievable mortgage of 75 per cent to make up the balance.

In the homes at Oaklands, integrated kitchen appliances come as standard and for peace of mind each has a 10-year NHBC warranty and two-year customer care warranty. At the heart of the development a huge oak tree spreads its branches over a green circle of grass.

Andrew Reynolds, sales and marketing director at Linden Homes South, said: “Our sales office at Oaklands was busy at the launch and it’s only getting busier as more and more people find out about the quality and location on offer.

“Local people who know the area well understand what a good position Oaklands is in. First-time buyers – some renting or living with parents – have been particularly enthusiastic to take the opportunity of staying in such a popular part of the country.

“Horsham is a lovely market town with real character, plenty of amenities and well-connected too for work locally and in London, Brighton or Guildford. Oaklands makes the most of its location being just half a mile from the train station and the town’s beautiful high street.

“We’re advising buyers to come and visit Oaklands soon to avoid missing out on their first choice. We can help advise with Help to Buy questions too. But don’t leave it too late – competition is hotting up.”

From Horsham train station, services reach London Victoria in under an hour. To get away from it all into the countryside residents also have the former hunting grounds of Leechpool and Owlbeech Woods, Warnham Nature Reserve, and the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty all close by.
