The puppy of an RSPCA rescue dog has won a competition to star in an advertising campaign for housebuilder Linden Homes’ luxury Heath Wood development in the West Sussex village of Felbridge.
Dotty the crossbreed has gone from being born into kennels at the RSPCA’s South Godstone Animal Centre, in Surrey, to becoming the famously furry face of promotional materials which will be seen by thousands of househunters across the region.
She was nominated by RSPCA workers after Guildford-based Linden Homes challenged local residents and organisations to submit pictures and short background stories about their characterful canines.
A special photoshoot in the stunning surroundings of the Heath Wood show home has now captured Dotty’s gentle nature, and her images will be used in newspaper advertising, online and in leaflets and posters.
Natalie Flint, Linden Homes Guildford sales and marketing director, said: “We thought Dotty was the perfect match for the beautiful family homes we have at Heath Wood. I’m sure she will charm househunters looking for their dream home, just as she charmed us!
“It was really nice to invite local residents and organisations to get involved in this project, and it was a tricky task to choose the winner. But Dotty’s sweet nature shone out and she was a star in the photoshoot. I hope Dotty finds a home soon too.”
In the same animal-loving spirit, Linden Homes has also donated £200 to the South Godstone Animal Centre.
Most of the animals there have been rescued from neglect and bad treatment by their previous owners. The centre cares for more than 150 animals at any one time including dogs, cats, rabbits and other domestic animals.

Darren Parrish, the manager of South Godstone Animal Centre, added: “We will be working continually over the Christmas period and we’d like to be able to treat all the animals in our care to a treat on Christmas day. The donation from Linden homes will help us make sure that the animals know they haven’t been forgotten.
“We were all really pleased to hear that Dotty had won the competition. We already knew that she was a little star, so fingers crossed this will help her find her forever home.”
