Sapcote fundraisers are celebrating a £2,500 boost to cancer charity coffers – with a little help from their Linden Homes Midlands neighbours.
The developer, which is currently building 128 homes in the village at The Limes, once again supported this year’s national Biggest Coffee Morning – in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care – by donating 32 specially commissioned house themed cupcakes, and a £50 voucher for The Vanillapod Cookery Company.
Fundraisers in the village made a £1.50 donation for a cake and the chance to win the voucher at the annual coffee morning in the Sapcote Village Pavilion, held each year for the charity.
Unsold cakes were donated to the village’s Langdale House care home to be enjoyed by those living there.
The coffee morning, which includes a raffle and a range of giftware, jewellery and handicraft stalls, raised over £2,500.
Jenny Chapman, who helps to co-ordinate the Sapcote event, said: “Our huge thanks to Linden Homes Midlands for their generous donation, and for helping to make the coffee morning another success for the village – and of course the charity.”
Linden Homes Midlands’ sales director Clare Phillips added: “We were delighted to be able to support this great cause, and the cakes really did look fantastic. Our congratulations to the group on their fabulous fundraising effort.”
The Limes development at Hinckley Road enjoys a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes, conveniently set overlooking open countryside with a close proximity to the market town of Hinckley and the vibrant city of Leicester.
