Deeping Rangers Football Club has received a funding boost after securing backing from a local housebuilder.
The £300 sponsorship deal with Linden Homes, part of Vistry Group, will help towards the running costs of the club’s home ground.
The club, which was founded in 1966, plays its home matches at The Haydon Whitham Stadium off Towngate East, close to Linden Homes’ Springfields development.
Deeping Rangers has 21 teams across various age groups, from under 8 through to adult sides. The first team plays in the United Counties League.
Kevin Davenport, commercial manager for Deeping Rangers Football Club, said: “I know a few of the people who work at Springfields and given how close the site is to our home ground, I decided to approach Linden Homes to see if they would be able to provide some much-needed support.
“Upkeeping and maintaining our facilities – such as top dressing the pitches and purchasing paint – is a costly expense, particularly during the summer months, so contributions like this one from Linden Homes’ really do get us through. The fact the teams are run solely by volunteers also means support like this provides a great boost to the club.
“In what has been a very difficult year and a half, it’s great to see our players getting back into the sport and using our facilities – which wouldn’t be possible without the help of local businesses such as Linden Homes.”
As part of the sponsorship deal, the club has displayed a Linden Homes advertising board at the side of the stadium’s main pitch.

Linden Homes is currently building 76 homes at Springfields, off Linchfield Road, with work due to begin on the next phase of 69 properties imminently.
