Linden Homes West Midlands is, for the second consecutive year, helping to put female football in Tipton at the top of the league, after agreeing another sponsorship deal.
Tipton Town Ladies FC, established in 2007, has recently received its all-new football strip, featuring the Linden Homes name, and founder of the club, Susan Albrighton, says that without such sponsorship it couldn’t exist.
“Two years ago, the club almost collapsed due to being underfunded”, said Susan. “But after moving into my brand new Linden home in Birmingham, I approached the company for some financial assistance, on behalf of the team, and we haven’t looked back.
“Even though Linden is just one of our sponsors we couldn’t continue to play our matches without their financial support.”
The new football strip is short sleeved and features a purple and black design – something the 18-strong team of ladies specifically wanted for this season, and it appears to be helping. The team has won six matches so far, with more success anticipated for the future.
Linda Huntington, sales manager from Linden Homes, said: “It’s great to be able to support Susan and the ladies again this season and we hope that the new strip brings the club continued luck on the pitch.”
Susan concludes: “As an under-represented sport in the area, we hope more ladies from in and around Tipton will visit our club as a way of keeping fit, making new friends and enjoying the beautiful game.”
