Christmas Comes Early For School Receiving ipad Mini Presents

A pair of early Christmas presents has been delivered by Linden Homes to the pupils of Fairford C of E Primary School – in the form of two iPad Minis.

The contribution by the award-winning housebuilder has helped the Gloucestershire school move a few steps closer to its goal of accumulating a set of 30 which can be used by a whole class.

The school has bought eight so far and the PTA is fundraising to buy more. The latest additions have helped to bring the total up to 10 and into double figures.

Linden Homes decided to help as it is currently building Stoneleigh in the town, a high quality collection of 19 four and five-bedroom detached houses. The school expects fresh arrivals in class when the first new families move in.

Headteacher Julie Fellows said: “We’re very grateful for Linden Homes’ contribution. The use of iPad Minis in the classroom brings education to life, helping to ignite children’s curiosity and engage even the most reluctant learners.

“By building a set of iPads big enough for a whole class, all the children will be able to experience the latest technology, access audio-visual tools, and develop important skills that one day they may use in the workplace.”

Linden Homes Thames Valley sales and marketing director, Steve Garton, said: “At Linden Homes we always set out to give more to the community than houses alone, so we are delighted to help the teachers and pupils at Fairford C of E Primary School.

“I hope the children learn from the iPad Minis and get a lot of enjoyment too. Who knows, maybe one day they will use their skills to be the architects, site managers and builders of the future building new homes like Stoneleigh.

“Fairford is a lovely village in a beautiful area with a lively community, so I think Stoneleigh will fit in very well. We’re very excited about seeing the first houses appear.”
