Bingham Voted The Best Place In The UK To Bring Up A Family
19 Nov 2013

THE Nottinghamshire town of Bingham has been voted THE best place in the UK to bring up a family – according to a recent study.

The survey carried out by Family Investments gives Bingham top ranking as the most family-friendly location in the country – based on school inspection reports, childcare provision, low crime, affordable housing and other factors.

Excellent Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4 school results were also key considerations.

The latest survey sees a rise to the top spot for Bingham from last year’s eighth position –  news that has been welcomed by Linden Homes.

The award-winning housebuilder is continuing to enjoy huge success with its popular Bluebell development, conveniently located at Tithby Road in the town.

A range of 63 stylish three and four-bedroom homes will make up the completed development. These have been carefully designed to meet the growing demand of new homes customers, as well as cater for a selection of family needs and budgets.

The town is well served by four infant, junior and primary schools as well as a secondary school. South Nottingham College also has a campus in the town.

The Bingham Leisure Centre has sports facilities and a swimming pool, and the town boasts its own bustling centre with shops, places to eat, clubs and other amenities.

The third annual Family Friendly Hotspots Report, carried out by savings provider Family Investments, is based on 2,400 postcodes across England and Wales - covering crucial factors likely to impact a family’s decision-making process when considering a move to a new area.

Based on this analysis, the unique study identifies the top 20 postcodes offering the best range of essential and desirable factors for family living.

The study investigated factors that cover the essentials of family living, including:

  • Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4 results
  • School inspection outcomes
  • Quantity and quality of Early Years care
  • Affordability of childcare
  • Local crime figures
  • Property affordability (based on average house prices and local salaries)

Lifestyle factors were also considered and included:

  • Existing population of parents with young children
  • Parks and green spaces
  • Leisure centres
  • Zoos and farms
  • Museums, galleries and theatres
  • Parks with Green Flag award

Linden Homes sales manager Karen Pitcher said: “The report echoes what we already know about Bingham in terms of it being a family friendly location – further compounded by the fantastic range of new homes we are building at Tithby Road and the huge interest in the development and the number of families already living here.”

The Bluebell sales and marketing suite is open daily from 10.30am until 5pm. Alternatively, contact the sales team on 01949 838274.
