Oakbrook, Linden Homes’ development near the village of Langley in Berkshire, has sold well since it launched in October. The collection of 70 homes, conveniently close to Slough, yet secluded and private, has been extremely popular with only five now remaining.
The properties still available include a selection of beautiful four and five bedroom homes: These chic town houses are cleverly arranged over three floors; have a study, a car port, granite worktops in the kitchen and integrated, guaranteed kitchen appliances. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and downstairs, there are glazed patio doors into the garden.
The four bedroom homes, also have a study, as well as an open plan kitchen/dining room. The kitchen worktops are finished in granite and, like the five bedroom homes, there are patio doors into the garden.
All of the Linden Homes at Oakbrook come with a ten year NHBC builders’ warranty and all of them have been built with style, space, luxury and a high standard of living in mind. The landscape around the homes – the development is surrounded by mature trees – means that there is a strong sense of privacy and community here.
Simon Pendlebury is Linden Homes’ sales and marketing director:
“The sales and marketing executives at Oakbrook say many customers have been tempted to come and see the homes because of the great location: It’s on the edge of a village but close to the local businesses. It has good links to the M4 and is just a mile from Slough railway station where you can catch a train to Paddington and be there in 17 minutes.
“And it’s also a popular location because of the great schools and college nearby, including Thames Valley University and East Berkshire College, Langley Academy, St Bernard’s Prep and Grammar School and Langley College.
“Once the great location has drawn them here, and they have a chance to look at the show home, customers have told us that have been extremely impressed with the Linden Homes’ product too.”
It’s not just the great location and the great product: The Help to Buy scheme has played a key role for many of these customers in buying a new home at Oakbrook.
The Help to Buy scheme* is a government led plan that has been making new build homes more affordable since it came into force nearly a year ago. In January of this year it was being reported that the scheme had already helped to create an average of 46 new home owners every day.
The scheme* is based on an equity loan from the Government. New home buyers (including first time buyers and home movers) can borrow up to 20% of the property price from the Government without being charged loan fees for the first five years.
Crucially for many people – and particularly first time buyers - the all-important deposit can work out at as little as 5%. The scheme is eligible for all new build properties up to the value of £600,000 - so all the four and five bedroom homes at Oakbrook qualify for the scheme.
