With the World Cup well under way in Russia, there are footballing celebrations of a different kind for youngsters closer to home.
Following a successful season, finishing runners-up in Division 2 of the Leicestershire Foxes League, there is more good news for Harborough Town FC Under 12s.
Building on its community links with Market Harborough, Linden Homes Midlands has agreed a sponsorship deal with the club to provide their U13 team for next season with a brand new football kit for the 2018/19 season.
Chris Lewis, manager of the Under 12s (soon to be Under 13s) said: “We would like to thank Linden Homes very much for the sponsorship, which really helps local clubs like ours prosper in the community.
“As a registered charity, Harborough Town FC, is made up of volunteers like myself who give our time and enjoy supporting our players develop into better footballers, and better young people.”
He added: “We had a very successful season just gone, finishing runners-up in Division 2. As there are around ninety Under 12 teams across ten divisions, our footballing performance was very strong, and hopefully we can go one better next year!”
It is expected that the new kit will make its first appearance at the start of the new season in September.

Harborough Town is a community football club with more than 700 players aged from six to 70 representing 48 teams, embedded in the community and passionate about seeing its first team climb the non-league ladder. In addition, the club is also home to the local league teams, The Royalist, The Cherry Tree, the Brooke House Football Academy and the facility is also used by many local recreational players.
