Linden Homes has been playing the role of Father Christmas this festive season: Staff, residents and customers have donated gifts for the Linden Homes’ Christmas initiative.
The presents are part of the Linden Homes Eastern Christmas appeal which, this year, is on behalf of the young patients at Chelmsford’s Broomfield hospital.
Festive parcels were gathered at the company’s head office on Glebe Road in Chelmsford whilst residents at Northfields in Colchester; Edge in Harlow; St Johns and Beeches Crescent in Chelmsford also contributed to the Christmas spirit with gifts for the babies, children and teenagers at Broomfield Hospital being donated at the various Linden Homes sales and marketing suites.
Sue Hursitt, Lead Play Specialist from the Phoenix Children’s Ward at the Trust said: “For our small patients and their families, the prospect of Christmas in hospital is unpleasant and often daunting. Donations like this make such a huge difference and offer a welcome distraction to the children; we couldn’t be more grateful to Linden Homes for their generosity and support.”
Yvonne Carter, Charities Support Officer for Mid Essex Hospital’s ‘Our Charity’ said: “Our Charity is so thrilled to once again be working together with generous organisations like Linden Homes to provide some of our smallest patients with the Christmas they deserve, even in difficult and often stressful times.”
Trevor Dempsey is the managing director at Linden Homes Eastern:
“Gathering up the presents and delivering them to local organisations, such as Broomfield Hospital has become part of our Linden Homes Christmas. It’s so heartening to watch the donated gifts coming in and even more heartening to see how much pleasure these generous gifts give.
“We are so grateful to everyone who has donated a present – either to our head office or at one of our developments: It could make such a difference to a young person who can’t be at home for Christmas this year.”
