Leading housebuilder Linden Homes donated show home furniture to Children’s Hospice South West’s charity shops, which has raised over £6,000 for the organisation!
Children’s Hospice South West, Linden Homes South West’s charity of the year, has 19 shops throughout the region and sells donated furniture, soft furnishings and clothing etc to raise money for its three hospices near St Austell, Barnstaple and Bristol. The hospices are available to families with children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and help to build precious memories and offer much-needed support.
Naomi Dymond, corporate partnerships fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West said: “We are thrilled that Linden Homes has donated so much furniture and dressing items. We were delighted to get the call that we could have the furniture but we didn’t realise just how much there was.
“The furniture is practically brand new – the beds hadn’t been slept in, the kettles hadn’t been filled and the pieces were all very fashionable. The donated furniture is making such a difference to us, we really are very grateful.”
Nigel Palmer, managing director of Linden Homes said: “We had sold all of the homes at some of our developments, so no longer needed the show home and we thought we’d donate the items to our charity of the year. It’s fantastic that the furniture will go to good homes and will help raise much needed funds for Children’s Hospice South West.”
