Summer time, and the living is easy... the words of the old Ella Fitzgerald song evoke a tranquil, idyllic, rural scene in the heat of high summer.

To make the process of moving to Pentlows Meadow easier, the Help to buy scheme* is available on all properties priced at £600,000 or less. This Government led equity scheme aims to make it easier and more affordable to buy a new home. Purchasers can buy a new home with just a 5% deposit and a 20% equity loan – a loan that can be repaid at any time within the first 25 years.
So, you provide the 5% deposit, your mortgage company lends you 75% of the value of the house, leaving 20%, which is the portion that the Government will lend to you - interest free - for five years.
And it’s a scheme that has been taken up with enthusiasm by Linden Homes’ buyers already.
Trevor Lepley bought his new four bedroom Linden home using Help to Buy – and was one of the first in the country to do so. He says he simply couldn’t have managed it without the scheme:
“There is no way I could have afforded a four bedroom house without Help to Buy. I secured a mortgage of 3.09% and my new home is only £90 more a month than the rent I was paying out for the two bedroom flat I was in previously - a flat that was a third of the size of my new house.”
