Smooth Operator - Company Director Endures Leg Wax For Charity
01 Mar 2014

YOU’VE heard of the Hairy Bikers – but how about the smooth house builders!

Never a company to shy away from doing its bit for charity, and in particular local good causes, Linden Homes enlisted the help of a ‘willing’ volunteer to help boost funds for the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall hospice appeal.

Commercial director Chris Harris took part in the annual Sue Ryder Febru-hairy stunt, as part of Linden Homes’ on going support of the £6 million Peterborough appeal.

While fundraisers turned hair raisers around the city; braving a beard shave, wearing a wig for the day, having a brush with their own bad hair day or even dyeing their hair – Chris opted for his own eye-watering stunt.

He attracted something of a crowd at the Linden Homes head office in Peterborough when he agreed to the smooth move of having a lower leg waxed – living out the adage, no pain – no gain!

The waxing was carried out by customer services manager Nicola Scanlon – and the stunt has raised £120 towards the appeal.
The company has already raised around £4,300 for the appeal, from events including a charity golf day, dress down day and cake sale – and says it will continue to support the charity.
