Celebrating his second Pride in the Job award of 2020 – Vistry Yorkshire site manager John Firth has been presented with an industry Seal of Excellence.
Earlier this year, John; who oversees the Oak Park development in Tockwith, was recognised for his professionalism and exceptional standards with an NHBC award for Quality.
This latest achievement sees the Vistry Group (which includes Linden Homes and Bovis Homes) site manager take the coveted Pride in the Job gongs, announced at a virtual award presentation ceremony.
A winner for the North East region, John was praised by judges for his ‘very impressive’ turnaround of the North Yorkshire development, alongside his leadership skills.
John, a 2019 Pride in the Job Quality award winner, said: “I’m delighted to have been recognised by the NHBC for the second year running, and in a year which has been more challenging than others, and this time around progressing to the next stage of the competition.
“Without everyone’s commitment we couldn’t achieve a really well run and highly successful development or deliver top quality homes. I put a lot of my success down to the Pride in the Job competition itself; it has spurred me on to make my site and team the best they can be.”
Vistry regional build director Simon Cruise said: “This is fantastic news for John, who continues to show a real determination, personal and professional commitment to the job. John’s role is undoubtedly one of the toughest in housebuilding and his drive for excellence is very much at the heart of the competition.”
Regional managing director Scott Stothard added: ““We are delighted for John – a very worthy winner of industry recognition and someone who has used his own drive, determination and willingness to steer a team towards delivering a development we can all be proud of – and all before the age of 30!”
Pride in the Job is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and the awards are the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry, dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house building.
