School’s fundraising for outdoor area gets a bounce from Vistry Group

Vistry Group has helped a school in the West Sussex village of Walberton raise money towards a new outdoor learning area by sponsoring its summer fair.

Vistry, which is building new homes under the Linden Homes brand at its Avisford Grange location in Walberton, gave £250 to Walberton and Binsted CofE Primary School to help with the costs of the disco-themed event, which included a bouncy inflatable course.

The fair took place on Friday (17 June) and also included activities such as a fun run, tombola, hook a duck and barbecue. With hundreds of students and parents in attendance, over £4,500 was raised in total.

Vicky Lutyens, secretary of Walberton and Binsted Parents and Teachers Association, said: “We were so happy with the number of people who attended the fair and the money raised.

“The proceeds will go towards an outdoor learning area which is really important to the children. The outdoor structure will be great to provide the children with a visual learning experience that aligns with their topics of study.

“We are very grateful to Vistry for their help. It is fantastic to have their support in providing something the children are very passionate about.”

Ginny James, sales and marketing director for Vistry South East, said: “We aim to play an active and positive role within the local community in Walberton as our new homes at Avisford Grange take shape.

“The outdoor learning area the school is planning to build sounds like it will be an amazing resource for pupils to enjoy spending time in and learn about the natural world.

“We were therefore only too happy to support the school’s fundraising for this project by sponsoring the summer fair. It is great to hear that the event was such a success, both in terms of the money raised, and the enjoyment of the children and their families.”
