Imaginative school children in West Bridgford put their thinking caps on to help name six streets at a new housing development in the town.
Linden Homes asked pupils at Greythorn Primary School in West Bridgford to think of new names for its Wilford Fields development, off Wilford Lane.
Classes from Reception to Year 6 collectively put forward names for the development, basing their suggestions on the theme of local wildlife.
The new street names will include Woodpecker Close, Hedgehog Gardens, Nightingale Grove, Starling Close, Foxfield Way and Magpie Crescent.
As a thank you, Linden Homes awarded £25 book vouchers to the six winning classes at the school.
Sally MacDonald, Head Teacher of Greythorn Primary School, said: “It was a lovely gesture from Linden Homes to ask us to be involved with naming the new streets and the children had great fun coming up with ideas.
“All our classes were involved, and the children thought up some wonderful ideas, which they are delighted to see have been chosen for the development, to be in place for years to come.
“We are very grateful to Linden Homes for taking the time to visit the school and for the book vouchers they have given us.”
Linda Huntington, Head of Sales for Linden Homes East Midlands, said: “At each of our developments we are keen to involve the community in fun and engaging ways.
“The children at Greythorn Primary School have done a fantastic job and their creative ideas has helped us to create a unique identity at Wilford Fields.
“We would like to thank all the pupils for their hard work and we hope these vouchers will help the school expand their library.”
