A sales office is set to open at a location in Ely where 258 new Linden Homes properties are being built.
Vistry Group is building 212 new homes for private sale and 46 affordable properties for local people through rent or shared ownership at Willow Woods, with prospective purchasers able to visit the site in person from next month (November).
The site, off Lynn Road, will feature a collection of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses for sale.
As part of the planning agreement, Vistry will also be providing a new ECB-approved cricket pitch and pavilion for the City of Ely Cricket Club. The development has been named after the wood used to make cricket bats.
Laura Thomas, sales manager for Willow Woods, said: “Willow Woods has generated a great deal of interest among homebuyers across the town since we first announced our plans. It will be a pleasure to be able to welcome visitors onto the site for the first time so they can appreciate for themselves the peaceful rural location here.
“When we released the first new homes at Willow Woods onto the market, we experienced a surge in demand for the properties. We fully anticipate that when the doors open to the sales office in November, we will be contacted by a further large number of prospective purchasers keen to check out the location.”
The development will form part of the wider Orchards Green scheme, which is set to bring 1,200 new homes and a range of community facilities to North Ely over the coming years.
Residents at Willow Woods will be able to relax and enjoy the outdoors at a nearby country park, trim trail and off-site cycleway, which will be provided as part of the wider project.
Laura said: “Our expert sales team will be waiting on site to guide visitors through the home-buying process and to answer any questions they may have about the homes on offer, or the layout of the site. The mixture of properties is designed to appeal to, and meet the needs of, a wide range of house-hunters from young first-time buyers to growing families as well as people downsizing after taking retirement.
“Construction is progressing well on the site and we are hoping to complete a number of properties and welcome the first residents into their new homes at the development this winter.”
Vistry Group was formed in 2020 and incorporates Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Vistry Partnerships.
There is currently a selection of two, three and four-bedroom properties available to reserve at Willow Woods, with prices starting at £295,000, £350,000 and £420,000 respectively.
