Queen’s Parade in Willesden Green will be the focus for tenants and customers old and new on the evening of Thursday 20th February at a party to celebrate this collection of unusual and original local shops and small businesses.
From 6pm to 10pm, the Queen’s Parade two year anniversary will bring together tenants, customers and local people to celebrate this local milestone with live music, anniversary cake and refreshments.
As well as marking the two year anniversary of this hub of local innovation, the event will see the launch of the publication of ‘The High Road on Willesden Green’ – a book that details all the local projects that have been launched in Willesden Green in recent years, projects that include The Library at Willesden Green.
The Willesden Green Town Team will also introduce a new initiative with Birkbeck University to create a Home Hub and Pop-Up University that will provide a Learning Café. This will host a series of themed workshops, lectures and debates designed to give participants a taste of higher education offered by Birkbeck University.
During the celebrations, guests will be able to wander through the different outlets and businesses on Queen’s Parade, visit an art exhibition at BAR Art Gallery and watch a storyteller at work, all whilst birthday cake and other refreshments will be served. Party guests will also be serenaded by a live band throughout the evening.
Councillor Crane says the evening will highlight the success of the Queen’s Parade:
“Queen’s Parade is a modern, vibrant hub of creativity at the heart of our community. This two year anniversary will be a lovely way to celebrate the contribution that our local entrepreneurs, artists and tenants have made, and continue to make, to local life.”
Galliford Try, which has recently been involved in a local development project in Willesden Green has supported the anniversary event.
