Pupil Gets Creative For The Launch Of New Cheddar Development

The start of the new year brings with it a brand-new development of homes to the village of Cheddar. This will mean a great deal to not only house-hunters in the area, but also one local schoolgirl, as she named the site.

Linden Homes Western will be opening the doors to its new development, which features just seven three- and four-bedroom properties, at 11am on Saturday 21 January. Here, house-hunters will be able to find out more about the homes on offer, as well as take a first-hand look at the fantastic new show home, a spacious four-bedroom detached property.

The scheme, named ‘Strawberry Meadows’, is located at Barrows Park. The name was suggested by Matilda Doel, eight, after Linden Homes set up a competition at her school, Cheddar First School. It tasked pupils to come up with some creative names which reflect the local area; in the end, Matilda emerged triumphant with her suggestion – because Cheddar is known for strawberries – and she was rewarded with some vouchers.

Adrian Bird, sales and marketing director at Linden Homes Western, comments: “I’d like to thank the school for taking part in the competition. The local community is an important part of every development which we build, so it’s nice and fitting that the name was chosen by one of its members.

“We’re certainly excited to bring these homes to the house-hunters of Cheddar and are positive that they will receive a welcome reception. If any interested parties are looking to start 2012 in style – in a new home – I’d certainly recommend that they pay the new show home a visit on 21 January.”
