After working hard all their lives, Jenny Verge and Mick Hunt were looking for their dream home but they had no idea their move would be so easy, or quick!
Jenny, 63, works part-time as a PA for the NHS at the North Devon District Hospital and Mick, 70, is a retired builder. The couple have moved to a stunning four bedroom house at Linden Homes’ Montbray development in Barnstaple, with their retriever called Rea, and Poppy, their kitten.
Speaking about the move, Jenny commented: “We were living in a three bedroom detached house in Bideford but it was small inside and we wanted something bigger. One day we popped into the marketing suite at Montbray and just fell in love with the show home. It was exactly what we were looking for: a separate living room, an open plan kitchen/family area with double doors leading to the back garden (as we don’t like our pets going upstairs), and four bedrooms so we’d have space for an office and for guests to stay.
“We’d never bought a new home before and we love that everything is finished. It gives us time to spend with our children and 12 grandchildren – who live in Roundswell and Bexhill – besides, Mick’s spent a long time building in the past and it was time for a rest!
“Denise, the sales executive, told us about the Part Exchange scheme and it wasn’t something we’d even thought about. Linden Homes arranged for three estate agents to value our home, offered us a good price and we were able to move almost straight away as our new house was already finished! We didn’t have to pay the estate agent fees or wait around for the rest of the chain to sort out their paperwork – it was the best move we made and we can’t believe that Part Exchange enabled us to move in just 15 days!
“The whole experience has been brilliant and the builders were fantastic – especially Stacy. We couldn’t fault them and Mick has had a lot of experience in the industry. Nothing was too much trouble and we couldn’t be more happy with our new home.”
