Developer Linden Homes is celebrating a flying start to 2014 – selling around £7 million worth of property in January alone.
With this figure up on the £4.6 million recorded this time last year, the award-winning company is seeing a revived customer confidence, and says now is the perfect time to invest in bricks and mortar.
The company sold 30 new homes last month (compared with 25 homes in January 2013) – with many being snapped up through the Help To Buy initiative.
And with more new developments coming on stream during the spring and summer months, the Peterborough-based house builder predicts much of the same for the rest of the quarter.
Linden Homes currently has developments in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire – and has more in the pipeline for 2014.
Land acquisitions and planning permission in additional locations across the region will see new developments this year in Sandy and Dunton (Bedfordshire), Huntingdon (Cambridgeshire) Stamford, Whetstone, Sapcote (Leciestershire), Witham St. Hughs, near Lincoln and Higham Ferrers – with 700 new homes being built on these sites alone.
Many home hunters have and continue to reserve their brand new property from plan, securing early release prices – as well as taking advantage of the many incentives on offer to first time buyers and existing homeowners.
Sales director Chris Roads said: “During January we saw on average a house sale per day – evidence that demand for new homes continues to thrive for Linden Homes, despite reports that UK house prices increased slightly in January.
“Some potential purchasers may now be worried by a prediction of a continued rise in house prices. However, by talking to us about their requirements and seeing how we can help them through a range of incentives – now may be the perfect time to buy that new dream home.
“Buying at today’s prices will be an investment for the future, and a great way to watch your money grow if the predictions are to be believed.
“Our new developments in carefully selected locations will continue to showcase our portfolio of property styles throughout 2014, and we look forward to an exciting and successful year ahead.”
