New play area opens at Church Walk development

A new play area has been opened at Linden Homes’ Church Walk development in Newton Abbot, featuring a slide, spider web swing, trim trail and seating area.

Pete Castley, area sales director, said: “It’s wonderful to see the development take shape and the play park is a great new amenity for the local community. Having outside space is so important and we know our younger residents will especially enjoy playing there.”

Councillor Phil Bullivant commented: “A key part of any development is the provision of areas for children to enjoy. Having a new facility at the heart of this development will be a major asset for resident families. Linden Homes has worked hard to provide a range of equipment that will provide the users with hours of fun and games.”

Located off Exeter Road, near Highweek, Church Walk includes 202 contemporary properties, an ecological wetland area by the attenuation basin, and a play area, where some additional landscaping works are due to take place. It benefits from excellent travel links and is within close proximity to the A38 and train station.

Pete said: “Church Walk is a fantastic development and it’s been lovely to watch the community grow. Lots of residents talk about the walks from the development, where there are spectacular views over Newton Abbot to Shaldon.”

Nearing completion, over 90 per cent of the homes have now been sold and in the summer a striking piece of public art was unveiled near the entrance. The contemporary stone circle was created by local artist, David Newman, and was revealed to coincide with the summer solstice. The artwork shows the position of the sun’s shadow on markers on the days of the summer and winter solstices and the spring and autumn equinoxes.

Pete added: “For interested homebuyers, we’re currently offering our package of the year on selected properties, where you could receive a £6,500 TUI holiday voucher and an entertainment bundle worth £3,000. The bundle includes a 55 inch Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, PlayStation 5 console, iPad and Bose wireless headphones.”

There are four bedroom homes currently available at the development from £420,000. Plus, there are four bedroom homes from £211,250 at a 50 per cent share with the shared ownership Home Stepper scheme.
