New Car Park Surface Paves The Way For Wilshere Park

Linden Homes has been busy in the village of Welwyn: Besides preparing to build Wilshere Park, its new collection of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes, the company has been helping to improve parts of the local community.

Whitehall car park, which is close to the Wilshere Park site, has been freshly resurfaced as part of Linden Homes’ commitment to improve provisions within the local community.

But while the work on the car park was going on, Linden Homes also took the opportunity to create a new ramp leading from the car park to the front door of the local Acorn Playgroup and Pre-School.

Linden Homes created the ramp to make it much easier for children and parents to come and go from Playgroup. Tina Soderberg, Acorn Playgroup and Pre-School Manager says they are all very grateful:

“The ramp is excellent and makes it so much simpler for those with disabilities and parents with children in buggies to get to Playgroup every day: It really has made a tremendous difference. It means the wheelchairs and buggies can now be brought safely and easily from the car park straight into Playgroup. We are so pleased.”

Nick Laughane the land director at Linden Homes Chiltern says everyone at Linden Homes was delighted to help and said he was looking forward to working closely with, and involving, the local community in the coming months:

“Wilshere Park is due to launch early next year but we’ve already been working closely with the community and local stakeholders to ensure the look and feel of the new Linden homes are in keeping with those in the locale of Welwyn village.

“And at Linden Homes, we are always keen to invest in the communities where we build. At this site alone, we have created 204 jobs and have 15 apprentices working on site; demonstrating that when we build, we look to build local homes by local people.”

Linden Homes’ Wilshere Park development will eventually offer of 150 new homes consisting of 136 houses and 14 refurbished properties. The development is set in 100 acres of beautiful, mature grounds in a village location that’s close to Welwyn Garden City.

There is currently a temporary sales and marketing suite on site, where staff are already dealing with off-plan sales.
