A toddler who has enjoyed watching and waving to the crane driver and builders at Linden Homes’ Chantry Villas development in Clifton has been presented with his own toy crane.
The boy’s mother, who lives close to the site on Chantry Road, wrote to thank Linden’s construction workers for their consideration while developing the 12 luxury homes and mentioned how her son had become quite a fan of crane driver Ashley Pope.
Nicola Pugh wrote: “I have been continually impressed and touched by the way that every single contractor has conducted themselves while on site.
“Noise has been kept to a minimum, and my young 18-month-old son, Ben, has absolutely loved waving to your crane driver Ashley Pope who deserves a special mention for his friendly patience with his fan club.”
The crane has since been removed from the site but, before he left, Ashley and Construction Director, Mick Arnold, presented a model crane to the youngster.
Linden Homes Western Managing Director Clive Wiltshire said: “As a member of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, we do our very best to minimise any disruption caused to neighbours – so to be praised like this is very encouraging.
“I hope Ben enjoys his crane as much as he enjoyed watching the real one operate. Maybe it’s the start of a high-flying career in building.”
Located close to Whiteladies Road and the open space of Durdham Downs, Linden’s Chantry Villas development has been popular with buyers, with eight of its properties already sold off-plan.
Only four five-bedroom, three-bathroom townhouses priced from £675,000 remain at the development.
