National housebuilder, Linden homes is supporting Decoy BMX club with a donation towards the world championship campaign for one of their racers. The club is currently raising funds to upgrade the facility with fencing, improved drainage, resurfacing and more storage.
Linden Homes, first heard from Ellie’s story through sub-contractor Beaumont Drylining. Andy Curtis, Ellie’s dad, who works across the southwest as Beaumont patcher brought to our attention that his daughter Ellie was currently running a fundraiser for her own BMX world championship campaign which is taking place later this year in Scotland.
In the last 2 years Ellie has achieved great success in the Sport, in her first year Ellie bagged 2nd in the female category for the Southwest Regionals, 2nd in the Birmingham Winter series, 6th position in the Southwest Championships, 13th in the British Championships and 18th in last year's National series. To make herself work harder, on her second year Ellie decided she wanted to race in the male category due to her skills and dedication. Ellie is now racing in the 14-year-old male category where she has worked extremely hard to gain a place to represent Great Britain for the World Championships.
Patrick Williamson, Assistant Site Manager at Harrington Park, Pinhoe attended the BMX Decoy track to meet Ellie and provide her with the donation towards her upcoming campaign on behalf of Countryside Partnerships Southwest.
Ellie and the team showcased some tricks with their BMX and told the housebuilder everything about the track and the impact this has had on their lives and the local community not only personally but also professionally.
