Leading housebuilder Linden Homes was on hand at a recent event in Colchester, aimed at helping would-be first time buyers discover the range of new financial enablers available to them.
A large number of potential homebuyers attended on the day, where they were able to discuss the benefits of owning a brand new home with sales executives and financial advisors from Linden Homes’ Northfields development in Colchester. They also discovered how the award-winning housebuilder’s financial products, and the government’s FirstBuy scheme, could help them overcome the restrictions on obtaining a mortgage imposed by major lenders.
One of these products, entitled ‘Step Up’* is exclusive to Linden Homes and offers affordable interest rates for buyers who have saved a five per cent deposit on houses.
The product offers a rate of 4.99%, fixed until April 2015, on a 95 per cent loan to value mortgage. Buyers with a 10 to 15 per cent deposit will benefit from even more attractive rates of 4.49 and 3.99% respectively, which are also fixed for the same period.
Gareth Jacob, sales and marketing director at Linden Homes Eastern, said: “It is encouraging to see there are first time buyers out there. However, I think this event was quite an eye opener for many of those who attended, as there are a number of options open to them in buying a new home that they simply can’t access when purchasing a second-hand property.
“Quite a lot of the people who have already purchased a home at Northfields are first time buyers, who recognise that they get a lot of house for their money, as well as quality and design, energy efficiency and a good location close to the station. However it is the diverse range of mortgage products offered by Linden Homes which have made Northfields so popular.”
Northfields is situated within walking distance of Colchester town centre and railway station, with direct trains to London taking just 50 minutes. The development offers a range of new homes to suit everyone, including one and two-bedroom apartments as well as two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Among the current release are a selection of two, three and four-bedroom terraces, as well as four-bedroom link detached homes.
