Land bosses at Linden Homes North are playing an active role in helping to map out Yorkshire’s planning and housing focus – as well as supporting the roles of women in property.
With a recently announced luxury new homes development in Harrogate, and existing developments around the region, the house builder is continuing to raise its profile across Yorkshire.
Among those taking an active role is Jennifer Winyard, Linden North’s strategic land and planning manager – and chair of the Royal Town Planning Institute’s Yorkshire branch.
Jennifer (pictured), who holds the post until December, says her focus is on housing supply, as well as highlighting the wider benefits of planning expertise to promote greater co-operation between different professionals.
She said: “My role as chair of the RTPI Yorkshire allows me to liaise and work with many industry professionals and showcase just what fantastic strategic land opportunities there within the region.
“I am hoping that a visit in July by the National President to Yorkshire will raise the profile of work and expansion by Linden Homes and other housebuilders. Linden is also hoping to sponsor a lecture and networking event in Leeds Civic Hall as part of the visit.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer (who is a former WIP Yorkshire & North East branch chairman) has also actively been involved with a recent Women In Property event, in the form of a Linden Homes North sponsored cocktail party at Harvey Nichols in Leeds – as part of an ongoing housebuilders’ drive to attract more women into the property sector.
She added: “The traditional face of property and construction is changing, and it is important that women are encouraged to play an active role in the multitude of disciplines that exist within this exciting and thriving industry.”
Meanwhile, Linden Homes North land director Andy Byrne has been helping to raise the profile of the company, following a presentation to the Harrogate Chamber of Commerce on the issue of job creation from housebuilding, and the importance of offering a range of housing in order for Harrogate to meet its economic aspirations.
On a lighter note, Andy and a group of colleagues and fundraisers are taking part in the the Carter Jonas Pedalthon – a 40 or 70-mile cycle ride around Ripley Castle and other parts of picturesque North Yorkshire in May to raise money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Land Air.
