Linden Homes encourages the community to Paws Around Exeter

Ferne Animal Sanctuary’s first sculpture trail – Paws Around Exeter – has brought 20 impressive dog sculptures to Exeter, thanks to the support from local businesses and organisations.

The exciting trail will take you on an adventure across the city to track down all the individually painted and designed five foot dog sculptures.

Linden Homes, which is building new homes in the city, sponsored Primrose in Cathedral Green in Exeter. The dog was designed by Trai Hiscock, an artist from Dorset, whose artwork is often characterised by her love for animals and an admiration for the beautiful countryside. She painted primroses as they are the flower of Devon, chose lime green as she associates it with spring, used a burgundy red collar as a nod to Linden Homes’ branding and selected ferns to highlight the charity’s name.

Emma Green from Ferne Animal Sanctuary commented: “Paws Around Exeter will raise awareness and essential funds for the work that the charity does to rescue, care for and rehome unwanted and abandoned animals. It will also promote Exeter as an accessible dog friendly city and raise awareness and understanding of the responsibilities of pet ownership.

“It is really exciting to launch our first sculpture trail and we are so grateful to the wonderful, talented artists who brought our dogs to life – it is amazing how eye-catching and unique they all are! A huge thanks to Linden Homes for sponsoring Primrose, we hope they are as pleased with her as we are!”

Sales consultant, Aaron Chapple said: “We were delighted to support Ferne Animal Sanctuary’s initiative, it’s fantastic to see Primrose relaxing in Cathedral Green! All the locations on the trail are dog friendly, so you can easily take part with your pet and discover all that Exeter has to offer.

“When you find the dogs on the trail you can’t help but smile and it’s lovely to see the children so taken with them. It’s a brilliant way to raise money and awareness for the charity and we hope the local community enjoy taking part.”

Linden Homes supports many community initiatives near to its developments and is creating homes locally at Sandrock and Tithe Barn, near Pinhoe. For more details or to book an appointment, call 01326 741388 or visit www.lindenhomes.co.uk
