No stranger to throwing herself into a fund raising challenge – Linden Homes East Yorkshire’s Vanessa Allison is about to embark on a new charity mission.
The adventurous sales executive has taken part in sponsored walks, fundraising cycle rides and has even run through several miles of bubbles to boost charity coffers.
However, this summer, Vanessa’s fund raising antics are taking her to new heights, with a sky dive to raise money for a cause very close to the Allison family’s heart.
Vanessa – who is based at the Swanland Gardens development in Swanland – will be jumping out of a plane in support of Diabetes UK.
She explains: “My youngest son Toby was just 16 months old when he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He is now eight, and every day he amazes us with his bravery.
“Myself and Toby's older brothers Ashley and Bradley have decided to do a skydive to raise money and awareness for this great cause.”
The intrepid trio take off into the Cambridgeshire skies on August 24, from the Sibson Airfield to jump the several thousand feet from a plane.
“We are all looking forward to it,” said Vanessa. “We are a pretty active and sporty family so this seemed like the perfect challenge.”
