Over 50 special guests attended an exclusive event at Linden Homes and Wates developments’ King Harry Park scheme in St Albans on Wednesday. The housebuilders were joined by consultants and specialists who have played an important part in making the scheme happen.
Launched to the public at the weekend (31st March – 1st April) the site had already generated a huge amount of interest, with over 2000 people eager to visit, the development partners enjoyed a successful launch.
King Harry Park is a collection of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes set on King Harry Lane, a short walk from the picturesque 100 acre Verulamium Park and about a mile from the Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Albans – the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain.
The development will consist of 150 new homes, set in pretty, landscaped gardens with a feature ‘village’ green on the 12 acre site.
Special guests included head teacher of Prae Wood Primary School, Jackie Stephenson, Roy King from Foundations Archaeology, Peter Goodman and Lisa Bates from the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce, Councillor Frearson and Councillor Wartenberg amongst others.
Managing director of Linden Homes Chiltern, Darren Maddox, lead proceedings on the day. Darren said: “We’re pleased so many people could celebrate with us and this event is a token of our appreciation. We’re looking forward to the public launch and we have created four stunning show homes so people can really get a feel for the range of house type we have on offer. We’re urging people to come and visit as it looks as though many of our homes will be reserved quickly.”
David Brocklebank, Managing Director, Wates Developments said; “King Harry Park sets a new standard for our joint venture developments with Linden Homes which now extends to eight successful projects. This has been reflected in the significant pre-launch interest from potential buyers looking for much needed new properties in this superb location so close to St Albans historic City Centre.”
St Albans is Hertfordshire’s oldest city and has a long, varied and colourful past: It has been occupied for 2,000 years and in the first century, under the name of Verulamium, was one of the largest settlements in Roman Britain.
Alongside the ancient ruins, mosaics and wall plasters that rival some of the finest in the Mediterranean, modern St Albans offers a vibrant and distinctive city atmosphere. Rich in open parkland, it boasts art festivals, renowned theatres, award winning museums and venues that host major pop and rock concerts as well as an enviable selection of bars and restaurants.
Another major advantage of St Albans is its excellent commuter links. St Albans Abbey station is less than a mile from King Harry Park offering a direct link to Watford while St Albans Rail station is under two miles away, connecting into St Pancras and London Bridge, Luton Airport and Bedford. By road, the M25, M1 and A1 are all easily accessible.
