International Women’s Day on 8th March is all about celebrating women’s achievements and increasing visibility, while calling out inequality…
Now, more than ever, there is a strong focus to encourage more women into the construction industry and Linden Homes has been holding school visits to inspire the next generation.
Emma Mackay from Linden Homes said: “Housebuilding offers a wide variety of job roles from land buyer to technical manager, labourer to surveyor and we love welcoming schools to site to explain the careers available and the housebuilding process as a whole.
“The children can enjoy a site tour, view the show home to see how the plans become a reality, learn about health and safety and even try their hand at bricklaying. Being able to see a house in construction and a digger in action is much more memorable than us talking about it in the classroom and we hope we’ve inspired some budding builders.”
