It’s a landmark day in the history of Truro’s old infirmary hospital…the first residents have moved into the show home!
Linden Homes and DCH are refurbishing the former derelict hospital into 19 luxury two, three and four bedroom apartments at its exclusive Royal Barham House development.
Will and Suay Buckley, both 60 years old, looked around the show home and wanted to move in straight away. Will is a retired Marketing Director and Suay used to be a Yoga Teacher; they moved to Truro from Sussex for a year, fell in love with the city and didn’t want to leave! The couple have now bought the show home and are the first residents to move in.
Commenting on her new home, Suay Buckley said: “We fell in love with the building as soon as we saw it. It’s been restored with such care and attention to detail, we really do feel incredibly proud to live here.
“The location is fantastic, it’s just a stroll into the city centre and we can see Truro cathedral from our living room – it’s a very special place to live.”
Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes said: “We’re delighted that the Buckleys have moved in and have had a really positive experience.
“Royal Barham House has such a wonderful, rich heritage and it really is a landmark day in its history.”
Cornwall’s first hospital was originally constructed in the late 1790s and served the community for over 200 years, before it finally closed in 1999. It is located to the south of the city centre on the west side of Infirmary Hill.
The homes have been built to a high specification and some have magnificent views out towards Truro cathedral.
