Donation Appeal For Plymouth Foodbank
12 Dec 2019

Linden Homes has set up a new food bank collection point at its Sherford development near Plymouth over Christmas and the new year and is appealing to local schools, businesses and residents to get involved in its work to help collect food for the Plymouth Foodbank.

The housebuilder has pledged its support this season to help those in need. Local food banks collect supplies and provide emergency food and assistance to local people who are referred to them in crisis.

Non-perishable food can be donated to Linden Homes’ Sherford sales marketing suite until 10th January, ahead of the team hand-delivering the gifts to the food banks in the new year. The items most in need include:

  • Tinned meats
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Long life juice
  • Jars of jam and other spreads
  • Tea and coffee
  • Toilet roll
  • Toiletries
  • Cat and dog food
  • Tinned fruit
  • Christmas cake
  • Gravy
  • Stuffing
  • Sweets

Emma Colin, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, commented: “We are proud to be providing homes and communities within which families can enjoy the festive period – however, we are also very aware some people find this time of year particularly difficult.

“There is often a drive to help charities during Christmas and so we wanted to offer some additional support afterwards as well. We also thought people may have some spare items to donate to the food bank after Christmas and the time to do so. We would like to invite local schools, residents and businesses to work with us on this project and help us to help those in need this year.”

  • Teignbridge Homeless Action Today at Kings Gate in Kingsteignton and Church Walk in Newton Abbot
