Never one to shy away from supporting the community or duck out of the chance to get involved with a local event – Linden Homes Midlands is going quackers in Northamptonshire!
The developer, which is currently building new family homes in the village of Burton Latimer, has thrown its support behind the village’s Annual Duck Race, which takes place on Sunday 28 June.
The location for the family fun day – complete with bouncy castles, canoe rides, pond dipping, tractor rides and various charity stalls – is the Pocket Park, close to Linden Homes’ Centurion Grove development off Kingfisher Way.
The Pocket Park is a popular open space in the town, used by dog walkers, joggers, fishermen, walkers, parents and children.
Linden Homes Midlands is sponsoring the event by meeting the cost of printing the thousands of leaflets promoting it.
Proceeds from the Duck Race and the Fete, which will also boast live music, beer tent and BBQ, will be used to support the Pocket Park and the Burton Latimer Scouts.
Linden Homes regional sales manager Warren O’Callaghan said: “We recognise what a very important date the Duck Race is in the local social calendar, and one which is greatly supported by the local community.
“As ‘newcomers’ to the village, we are delighted to be involved in some way and look forward to joining the community for the event next month.”
Duck Race co-ordinator is local town councilor Maureen Jerram, She said: “Our huge thanks to Linden Homes for their generosity in helping with the leaflet for the event, which we know will once again attract many people from the village and further afield.”
