Developer Highlights The Benefits Of Help To Buy

Home-hunters were able to find out more about the benefits of the government’s Help to Buy scheme at a special event held at a new homes development in Cannock.

Linden Homes hosted a Help to Buy weekend at its Chenet Chase development, off Lakeside Boulevard, earlier this month to show prospective buyers how they could benefit from the scheme.

Help to Buy enables purchasers to buy a new home with just a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage, with the remaining 20 per cent being provided as an equity loan, which is interest-free for the first five years.

More than 90 per cent of buyers at Chenet Chase have used Help to Buy to secure their new home, and two more purchasers reserved using the scheme during the Help to Buy weekend.

Linda Huntington, Head of Sales for Linden Homes West Midlands, said: “Help to Buy has enabled more than 100,000 people nationwide to step onto or move up the property ladder – but despite its growing popularity, many prospective homeowners are still unaware of the scheme.

“Help to Buy can be a real boost to first-time buyers, and can also be used by buyers who currently own a home – but this isn’t widely known, so we decided to hold our Help to Buy weekend to address misconceptions about the scheme and explain its benefits, as well as who is eligible to make use of it.

“Help to Buy has proved very popular at Chenet Chase since we opened the doors to our marketing suite, and two more customers reserved their homes using the scheme over the course of our weekend event.

Linden Homes is building a range of two to four-bedroom homes for sale at Chenet Chase. The development will also include public open space and a trim trail.
