Back of the net! Youngsters in Wakefield are celebrating a footballing boost – thanks to a sporting sponsorship from housebuilder Linden Homes.
Building on its community links with the area and supporting grass roots football, Linden Homes West Yorkshire has agreed a sponsorship deal with Wakefield Jets FC to provide its Under 11s team with a brand-new kit for the 2019/20 season.
The club currently plays in Division 2a of the Garforth League, with the 12-strong team coached by James Tolson, who has been involved with the team for a number of seasons, alongside Jonathan Drake.
Linden Homes West Yorkshire managing director Scott Stothard said: “The club provides a huge amount of enjoyment for players, parents, officials and supporters alike. With a number of developments in West Yorkshire, we will be seeing many new families make their home in the area, some of whom we hope will benefit from the enjoyment and spirit of grass roots football on their doorstep.”
James said: “We would like to thank Linden Homes very much for the sponsorship, which really helps local clubs like ours prosper in the community.
“The club is made up of volunteers like myself who give our time and enjoy supporting grass roots football and helping the youngsters to develop their confidence and enjoy themselves on and off the pitch.”
Linden Homes West Yorkshire is currently building across the region, including the Kings Glade family-friendly development in Newmillerdam and the Manor Park development at Pontefract.
