Creative Youngsters Design Their Ideal Birdhouse To Celebrate Sandy New Homes Scheme
31 Jan 2014

AS Linden Homes adds to its property portfolio with a new development in Sandy opening soon, local youngsters are rising to the challenge of house designing and building of a different kind.

The award-winning developer will be building a selection of 32 homes at the forthcoming Kestrel Ridge development close to the town’s Station Road – using the nearby renowned RSPB sanctuary as inspiration for the site’s name.

And looking to take the association one step further, while engaging with the local community, Linden Homes has enlisted youngsters at the nearby Treetops Nursery to help with a fun, creative challenge.

The children at the popular nursery will be spending time over the next few weeks drawing, designing and even building their own birdhouses!

The entries will be displayed at the nursery, with Linden Homes presenting individual prizes for the best, and a gift to the nursery as a thank you for taking part.

Linden Homes sales manager Warren O’Callaghan said: “As a developer new to the town, it is important that we engage with the local community, and we are thrilled that the Treetops Nursery has accepted our invitation of the birdhouse design challenge.

“We look forward to seeing their works of art and are already anticipating what a tough job it will be to single out the best entries.”

Sonia Harvey, events & PR manager for Treetops Nurseries said: “We’re really excited to take part in this fun and learning creative challenge, and the children are already busy with their designs – as well as the excitement of hearing about new homes being built with diggers and other big machinery.”

Kestrel Ridge will boast an impressive variety of three and four bedroom family homes, and while the development won’t be officially launched until later in the year, home hunters have the chance to register their interest now – and benefit from the many advantages offered through buying off plan.

The development’s close proximity to the town’s railway station makes it a desirable commutable retreat into London, with stations on route via Biggleswade, Hitchin and St Neots – as well a boasting excellent road links to the A1 and A1(M).
