Call For Historical Photographs Of The Old Infirmary Hospital In Truro
20 May 2013

Award winning housebuilder, Linden Homes is appealing to the local community for historical photographs of the old infirmary hospital in Truro.

The photographs are to be used in the communal areas in the newly refurbished building, Royal Barham House, where Linden Homes and Westco Properties are transforming the former derelict hospital into 19 luxury new two bedroom apartments.

Jules Miller-Wilson, sales and marketing manager for Linden Homes said: “Royal Barham House is such a beautiful building and it has a wonderful, rich heritage. We wanted to pay tribute to its history so residents and their visitors can remember its important past.

“We are fortunate enough to have some photographs, but we would love more. If you or a member of your family stayed in the hospital then we would love to hear from you!”

Located to the south of the city centre on the west side of Infirmary Hill, Cornwall’s first hospital was originally constructed in the late 1790s and served the community for over 200 years, before it finally closed in 1999. It first opened with just 20 beds and saw two World Wars, as well as the introduction of the NHS in 1948.

The development has been well received, with a third of the homes already reserved. The two bedroom apartments have been built to a high specification and some have magnificent views out towards Truro cathedral.

For more information, or to submit your photographs, please visit Royal Barham House, off Corte Spry, Truro, TR1 2GE, call 0844 488 0730 or email royalbarhamhouse@lindenhomes.com.
